New Year.... New Blog Post (Or some clever saying like that)

What better way to start 2015 off than with a blog post of the things I'm looking forward to this year!? While I'm at it- why not throw some of my resolutions in.

Resolution #1: Stay on task better

This is something I struggle with on a daily basis. I sit down to do homework and before I know it, I'm on a completely different task than what I've started. Whether that is simply switching my browser over to the infamous Facebook or working on a completely different assignment. Which brings me to a few things I will need to do in order to be successful with this resolution:

  1. Prioritize better
  2. Be more intentional with the tasks I take on
Resolution #2: Teach myself something new in the new year

Learning new things has always been something I've enjoyed. The challenge that comes with stepping outside my comfort zone to learn something new is invigorating. So in 2015 I want to teach myself at least one thing new. Here are a few things I have in mind:

  1. Sewing- I got sewing machine for Christmas but have NO CLUE how to use it. I would love to have some skills before next year comes around.
  2. Cooking- I can cook enough to take care of myself but would love to learn how to look in my fridge see some ingredients and whip something up without having to follow a recipe measurement by measurement.
Would my list of New Years Resolutions be complete without this one?

Resolution #3: Be a healthier ME!

I could go on and on about the excuses I have made for myself but I would really like to go into the new year with a healthy outlook. Cook more for myself, be more active, and just take better care of myself. With school and work about to start back up for my final semester I hope to find a better balance between work, school and life.

With the new year in full swing, here are a few things that I look forward to in 2015!

  1. Getting Married- 139 days!
  2. Graduating with my masters and getting my first "big girl" job
  3. Potentially having a niece/nephew- Lindsay & David!?
This morning in a discussion with my sister we each thought of a mantra for one another that will be our "life mantra" for 2015. My assigned mantra is "I am far too smart to be the only thing standing in my way!" With that being said, 2015 is full of excitement and I am ready for everything it throws my way!
