Here's to trying to find a better rhythm. However, a lot of things have been happening in my life to keep me from posting such as:
I am officially a University of Nebraska-Lincoln alum! Back in May- yes, I know it is already ALMOST August- I graduated with my masters in Higher Education Administration with a specialization in Student Affairs which was a HUGE accomplishment since I never thought I'd finish that darn thesis but with the help of a great advisor and a lot of wine I completed what seemed like a never ending project!
With graduation came some sad farewells but as cheesy and cliche as it is it really isn't goodbye it really is see you later... seriously since we've already made a trip back to Lincoln to see friends.
Shortly after graduation my fiancé and I got married FINALLY (after 4 years).
We've been waiting to be finished with school and the time finally came! And we are extremely grateful to have been able to spend a full night celebrating with family and friends. I promise the actual thank you cards are coming soon- they're written. We just need to get to the store for the stamps! :)
After our wedding we moved out to Kansas to be closer to where we both will be working and a week after the wedding I started my first "big girl job" at Washburn University as the Assistant Director of Student Activities and Greek Life. Go Ichabods! I am going on a 2 months now at Washburn and have loved every minute of it. The institution is full of wonderful people and learning experiences I never expected within my first position. When I started I couldn't wait for students to come back so I could meet them. I didn't think that time would be here so fast!
And finally, I was able to help celebrate my best friend getting engaged this past weekend and cannot wait to help her celebrate her big day!
Time has truly flown these past few months- Andrew and I have been married now for exactly 2 months. (I actually just realized that while writing this post... ahh marriage!)
To conclude this post I'd like to share the top 5 things we've learned these past 2 months:
- 1. Grapes are EXTREMELY poisonous to dogs
- After getting married and you're off your parents insurance you suddenly have to go to the doctors more
- Finding dinner ideas every night can be tough. What is even tougher is wanting to cook after being at work all day.
- If you're going to attempt to have a green thumb, start by buying your first plant on clearance
- Being able to come home and eat ice cream out of the carton with the person you love is so much better than it was in graduate school... alone :)
